From one of the villages surrounding the city of Aksaray in Central Anatolia of Turkey, this Kilim rug was handwoven in the mid-20th century for use as a dowry piece. Smaller in size, these types of rugs were woven to fill small spaces and other corners large rugs couldn't fit. It has a muted primarily horizontal design with white, yellow, brown and red colors. In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. 35" x 47"
